Tiktok is vile and its "content creators" pitiable not because of the content, but because of the platform and how it is run. Tiktok moderators explicitly discriminate against the disabled, the poor, and the ugly, for example:
The other issue is that ByteDance is a Chinese company and there is absolutely no firewall between the massive amount of worldwide user data they hold and the Chinese government. That makes it a really fucking stupid platform to use, sorry.
I was just thinking about this while watching the games last weekend. I wanted to join everyone else in being mad at Aaron Rodgers and cheering against him.... but the dude is just too good at football, and too fun to watch. Of course they lost but he's a generational talent and I just don't give a shit what he says during interviews, even though I'm supposed to.
The one thing I find mildly annoying about podcasts is that a lot of platforms mingle them with their written content (and don't make it easy to tell which is which), so sometimes I'll click on what I think is an article I'd like to read and it's just a blurb with a podcast attached. Boo.
If it was a little bit easier to avoid these accidental encounters with podcasts I'd probably never think about them at all.
I don't know that men need to be forced into monogamy.
I had a very enjoyable period between my first and second marriage dating a lot of different women. They were all interesting and fun, but none I'd want to engage in monogamy for.
When I met my current (and hopefully final) wife, I just didn't want to be with anyone else.
I am bothered by (although wouldn't say I hate) "those who I admired as writers who got into podcasting, said “wow this is a lot easier!,” and essentially stopped being writers."
And I don't like how so many people put out an audio version of their writing. I mean, why should I care? Does it affect my life in any way? No. But...with the rise of podcasts (video in general), literacy is becoming less relevant and given enough time, people generally might become post-literate. And I like writing so that bums me out.
Seeking Arrangement is fun :D

I don't hate Tik Tok, but I do hate fat acceptance and healthy at any size.

The only things on that list I'm at all familiar with are newsletters and podcasts. And I can't see why anyone would hate either as a broad category.

In this essay I will explain how Wordle is a tool of white supremacy that, by its very existence, commits violence against... (1/9163)
EDIT: This cheap pop has too many likes and I don't know how I feel about it.
