ditto with the first part (saw the twitter on zerohedge). don't do "social media" so the controversy was more sensed than known, but greenwald and taibbi are favorites. the 535 article deboer links to though is still in denial when thinking the disenchantment that has led people who voted democrat all their lives to vote for third party or trump after obama is explained by racism. the more they beat the stick on the vax shy and forever war doubters, etc. the more they cut their own throats.
"Some people are turning to alternative media to find options that are neither reactionary ideologues or self-righteous woke yelling. Can you blame them?"
Prostitution as the oldest profession might make it our progenitor and if you partake in the world maybe you occasionally will need to whore yourself. The self aggrandizing 5th estate types are to highfaluting to face this possibility. The end of history - it simply doesn’t apply to them.
I work in industry, nothing fancy. In that world everyone gets it - you gotta serve somebody - we walk in the footsteps of our great progenitor, we know it, hey I make $135, I see what working poor live, pass.
Freddie suggests the CRT/woke takeover of the media industry is bad for business, economically unwise. Okay. But it was also so enticing, so very delicious, so harmonious with their bigotry, irresistible in its main proposition - time to put the poorly educated, the not so smart, the Rabble in their place. Schadenfreude: after four years of Trump they are seething, they’ve gone down the rabbit hole, true believers. I highly doubt they can change. Way to go substack!
I’m going to comment here on the post above you wrote today and from which you understandably disabled comments.
I just want to say that I think you should be forgiven. I think you should receive absolution, in fact. I think people should entirely move on and let it be in the past. You actually do deserve that and I wish you felt that way and that everyone else did too. You had a psychotic break and made untrue accusations for which you later retracted and apologized. I think this is entirely forgivable. I’m glad you’re being published in major outlets again. You merit that, too.
A year late commenting on this one but this Dave Weige/Felicia Sonmez mess at the WaPo is just more of what you're talking about. The world reporters live in is bonkers.
I thought the exact same thing. Imagine choosing to live in such a world? I suppose many of them didn't realize what they were buying into, but choosing to stay there is something I might have one thought of as cowardice, if people didn't have kids, mortgages, bills to pay, etc. Some institution has to choose to break away from the homogenous media culture that exists now outside of conservative media and to become an intellectually honest enterprise, as opposed to what they are now, before anything has a chance of changing. I always wonder why this hasn't happened yet. I feel like the major newspaper or "authoritative" news source that did so would corner the market overnight.

Nope. Definitely cannot blame them. It's why I'm here.
Very thought provoking piece. Thank you.
Where do you see, in your opinion, the mainstream media in 10 years? 20 years?
Are we witnessing the death of a titan? Or just a hibernation until a new guard comes of age and takes power? Genuinely curious of your take.
Would love to hear more on why you hold that position on Klein
+1 sub

I remember that there were many more comments on this post. Is my memory faulty?
Comments weren't yet on when this was first published I believe
Thanks for answering. I think what happened is that I couldn't reconcile such a popular post having so few comments. My memory is fallible.
