These points are well taken but you’re definitely glossing over the fact that her “choice” to compete for China is likely having more to do with the tens of millions of dollars on offer than just cultural affinity.

Also if she, as an international relations major at Stanford, had an opinion on the Uyghur situation beyond the laughable “I haven’t done my homework on the issue” that would also affect my view of her position.

I’m not really interested in the eligibility conversation but the money for propaganda thing is real, and in my opinion bad.

I mostly agree with this, but here's a bit that makes me want to say "Hold up!": "American fans, who get fed a steady dose of anti-China propaganda ..."

I get the sense that much of anti-Chinese animus has to do with it being a nominally Communist and definitely repressive country. Don't think that part is propaganda.
