I still don't get why Coates going with what "feels like" racism to him and refusing to learn anything at all about the history of the conflict is admirable. I find admiration of his book and his obvious and trendy racism to be cowardly at minimum

Lol, Coates' conclusions about Israel being admirable. Guy goes to Israel and Palestine for less than two weeks(!) and writes a book about his observations that says exactly what all of his supporters would want him to say. Where was the moral courage there? This is like Greta Thunberg moving from environmental stunts to Hamas flotillas. It's just going from one leftist cause to another.

This isn't about the righteousness or lack thereof of Israel; if we're defining moral courage in the modern age, brave would be someone going AGAINST their tribe's expectations, right? You, Freddie, are FAR braver in that regard than Coates just moving on to the Next Big Issue on the Left and coming out with a book that flatters all these opinions.
