My guess at the ulterior motive is this quote: "Mr. Shor, who shares the views of a group of pro-housing-development activists known as YIMBYs, said that his place, at nearly 2,000 square feet, is simply too big for one person."
I think Mr. YIMBY should be sharing his enormous loft (that also counts as his back yard, since lofts don't have back yards) with 10 or so of the unhoused. Or admit to being the NIMBY that he actally is.
That David Oks quote about Shorism ~ Maoism is very, very funny. Not sure if it’s exactly funny in the way he means it to be - it just smacks of 19yo energy in a way he’s generally been able to avoid in his public persona thus far.
Shor himself seems a lot more interesting than anyone else carrying a torch for quality polling and targeting in politics, but that article really covers him in friendly quotes from the most execrable folks in democratic politics (note: I’m not an including Oks in that -- he’s odd but as weird as the gravel campaign was, I think it was sincere ideologically). I mean, Lis Smith? 🤮
Gotta say, that's one of the more spectacular pictures of a non-acting celebrity I've ever seen.
For an unrepentant Republican voter and immigration restrictionist I have a strange fondness for sensible folks on the far left, if that's not a contradiction in terms.
Ghost of Tsushima was an open world AAA game that didn't suffer from over-sprawl.

I had forgotten that song. Thanks.
