One of Sheryl Crow’s best songs of my favorite of her albums. The first song on that album is about aliens. It’s a very weird record underneath the pop-rock-countryness of it all, and reminds me of a time during the X-Files era when conspiracy theories were for everyone and listening to Art Bell didn’t make you a right winger.

Johnny Cash has a good cover of Redemption Day, too, if you like later Johnny Cash.

I loved Oryx and Crake. Once I finished it, I couldn’t wait to read the rest of the trilogy but the second book was so slow and filled with tedious info about God’s Gardeners. I stuck it out through the end. The last book was more interesting but neither book really held up to the first.

Oryx and Crake is so good. Just read it last year and jumped right into the sequel. But, man, that sequel is terrible. Didn't even finish it.

Dunno. I was prescribed Prozac four times in my life - the fifth, I stayed the course. Magical, doesn’t begin to describe it. My life is transformed, and I’ma veteran of talking therapies too. Works for some and not others

Good job on the remix article! That's an idea that can provide insight if deployed carefully, but is all too often used to defend the state of affairs where movies are rapidly becoming as homogenous as Big Macs.
