I'd like to thank Freddie for recognizing the one kind of writing I'm any good at, Internet commenting. I have Usenet posts that are older than a lot of the people reading this text.

In an semi-related note, I started a Substack. It's more to play around with the platform than to do any real writing, but who knows? I republished an old piece I wrote back in 2007(!) on there if anyone wants to read it.

If even an inadvertently offensive (to an elite faction) comment that wouldn't be offensive to the vast majority of Americans is ACTUAL VIOLENCE, why isn't calling for someone to be Deplatformed or Fired (i.e., lose their and their family's income) Extreme Violence?

Freddie, I wanted to say that since your Modest Mouse piece, I have started to listen to Modest Mouse and am quite liking them. I only really knew Float On before -- my musical education has been rather limited, so I appreciate the care you put into your music posts.
